Summer 2008 concerts at the Wells Harbor Park
The concerts at the Wells Harbor Park are one of the best kept secrets of the summer. Admission is free, if you enjoy the concert you are encouraged to make a donation to offset expenses. On the busiest nights there is always room for three times the number of concert-goers. Plenty of free parking close by. "Seasoned citizens" park close enough to enjoy the music from their cars! There is plenty of room to move around if you feel like dancing or take a stroll down to the harbor with your sweety. Bring a cushion if you plan on using the benches or folding chairs or a blanket just in case the benches are all taken. Concerts start at 6:30. Some insect repellent is a good idea on many nights but you may be pleasantly surprised. On some evenings the breeze is just enough to keep the bugs at bay. Ted |

This schedule is for the 2008 series of concerts. June 28, 60's InvasionWill you remember this year as the summer of Love? This group sounds just like their name. I mean that in a good way of course. July 5, Mac McHaleMac McHale is back! Bluegrass fans will not want to miss this one.July 12, The Blind Pilots(Blues / Rock) Covering the styles of such favorites as Stevie Ray Vaghan, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton and more..... July 19, Women of NoteNine angelic voices performing an incredibly diverse set of music. One thing they all have in common is that they sound great. A cappella at it's best.July 26, Straight LaceA great mix of oldies, jazz, easy listening, rock and funk. These folks are my favorite local band. No wait, nix that, nix the word local. This concert is always one of the most appreciated of the summer. Don't miss it! Aug. 2, Bonnie EdwardsA Maine base lady of the blues will sing Blues, Jump, and Swing. Aug. 9, Debbie MyersDebbie Myers sings country music in the tradition of greats such as Patsy Cline and Reba McEntire. Aug. 16, Eddie Forman Orchestra AKA "E.F.O."This is Polka night for Wells Harbor. The Eddie Forman Orchestra will entertain with standard polkas and traditional Polish lyrics. Aug. 23, All Together NowBeatles tribute band that is always very popular with the audience. This is another that I consider a "don't miss" concert. Aug, 30, Rick CharetteRick Charette writes and performs delightful childrens songs as well as contemporary pop music. An energetic performer who will have the audience participating with gusto. September 13 & 14 ChiliFestDon't miss the 9th Annual ChiliFest.
