Summer 2013 concerts at the Wells Harbor Park
The concerts at the Wells Harbor Park are one of the best kept secrets of the summer. Admission is free, if you enjoy the concert you are encouraged to make a donation to offset expenses. On the busiest nights there is always room for three times the number of concert-goers. Plenty of free parking close by.
There is plenty of room to move around if you feel like dancing or take a stroll down to the harbor with your sweety.
Bring a cushion if you plan on using the benches or folding chairs or a blanket just in case the benches are all taken. Concerts start at 6:30. Some insect repellent is a good idea on many nights but you may be pleasantly surprised. On some evenings the breeze is just enough to keep the bugs at bay.
This schedule is for the 2013 series of concerts.
June 29, All Together NowBeatles tribute band that is always very popular with the Wells audience. This is another that I consider a "don't miss" concert.
July 6, Strafford Wind Symphony
55 Musicians! Traditional and patriotic crowd pleasers.
July 13, Don Campbell Band
From Don Campbell's website:
Don Campbell is an adult contemporary/country crossover and folk-rock singer-songwriter whose uniquely clear and well-delivered presentation of music supports the story in the song and welcomes the audience on board for the ride. Often compared to the sounds of Dan Fogelberg, Vince Gill, and Chris Isaak, Don and his ensembles are based out of New England.
July 20, Joseph FireCrowNative American flutist. To be confirmed, this concert is in conjuction with the 11th Annual Native American Pow-Wow
July 27, Straight Lace
A great mix of oldies, jazz, easy listening, rock and funk. These folks are my favorite local band. No wait, nix that, nix the word local. This concert is always one of the most appreciated of the summer. Don't miss it!"
Aug. 3, On Tap
From the OnTap website: The variety of popular favorites dating back to the Beatles and going forward to Pink, provides a mix that makes people happy, keeps their feet tapping to the beat and finally hitting the dance floor. And when the audience is at that point, On Tap keeps the momentum going.
Aug. 10, Eddie Forman Orchestra AKA "E.F.O."
This is Polka night for Wells Harbor. The Eddie Forman Orchestra will entertain with standard polkas and traditional Polish lyrics.
Aug. 17, The Spectras
