 Much of this regalia was hand made in the traditional Native American style. The Indians of New england were among the first to incorporate materials traded from white settlers into their daily as well as ceremonial garments. This included cloth, copper, brass, and glass beads. |

| The regalia on women is absolutely gorgeous! Regalia such as this is usualy only worn for special ceremonies and may be purified just before a traditional dance. If it is then touched by a stranger the purity is compromised. Clothing or regalia differs greatly from one tribe to another. The Pow Wow in Wells is intertribal so you will see styles of dress from various traditions.
