In the switch dance the men and women trade rolls. The women may take the men's war clubs and the men get the shawls, feather fans, baskets etc. The style of dancing is reversed as well. For some reason the women do a much better job with this dance.

If an observer likes a particular dancers style they might place a little cash on the ground near the dancer. The dancer accepts the compliment by dancing just around that one spot. If the dancer is a woman she must not pick up the offering. She must wait until an obliging warrior picks up the money and hands it to her. If no warrior performs the task she might have to dance in that same spot all night.
